Our Student Council elections at school are happening this week.

Should I be scared that a student is running un-opposed for the President position? I can't imagine how the year is gonna be with a guy named Tupac as the school President. ..I kid you NOT. that is his English name...that's what is on the attendance list!

Fire On The Wall!

we had a fire on the 5th floor of our building today. ok so it wasn't exactly on the 5th floor, it was outside the window of one of the classrooms. One of the wall mounted air conditioning units bursted into flames. Stinky smoke that eats up your lungs started to fill the 5th and 6th floor and was moving up to our 7th floor hallway.

We got to see some action cuz Sam was nice enough to run up the stairs and tell us that there was a fire. But hey, this is China, you don't need to evacuate the building for a little crappy fire.

the awesome first week continues tomorrow!

woke up at 6 2 get ready 4 school.

lunches are 2 or 3 hour breaks.

didn't get home until 8.

exhausted. going 2 sleep. mark and lesson plan tomorow.

Cleaning out old things

I was cleaning my room today and look what i came across! Old school 1.44 MB floppy disks! Transparent colour too! This was my favourite set.

I remember there used to be 2 kinds of floppies. the 0.7MB and the 1.44MB floppies. The 1.44MB floppies would cost more and like the picture below has 2 holes near the bottom, one on each side. The 0.7MB floppies only had one hole in the corner.

I remember "hacking" the 0.7MB floppy disk by drilling a hole on the other side, and then formatting the disk to 1.44MB. Pay for the smaller storage version, and get the storage of the larger version! yeah!!

And then they had these programs that allowed you to format the disk up to 1.7 or 1.8MB of space!! That was so awesome, cuz nobody else could fit so much data on the same disk.

I still remember when warez was distributed via 1.44MB archives!

...oh man..

I'm such a huge geek!
